The level rose maybe 1" in the rest of the reservoir. Afterwards I started the engine and the fluid in the full portion of the reservoir promptly dropped maybe 1"-2". When your coolant level is low (check your reservoir) air get introduced into your system and the rushing sound is your coolant filling into your heater core under your dash.

If you can run the engine for about 5 minutes and then turn your heater on. Look under the dash in the area where the dash meets the floor board and see if you can see anything leaking.
