WebTo get a straightened shell like this in Maya is pretty simple. Just do a face projection by X, unwrap from U, then unwrap from V separately. Or just take the below object, manipulate it a bit, and use its straighten command. But for the life of me, I cant figure out how to unwrap an object like this in Blender.
