The son of Captain Ernest Augustus Perceval, late 15th Hussars, of Longwitton Hall, Northumberland and Henbury, Glos. He left Radley in 1853. In 1854 he joined the 88th Regiment, promoted to Captain in 1860. Retired from military service in 1864.
