The hole [peep sight] on one leaf is set up for the shooter's target load, whatever that may have been, at 50 yards, and the other is set up for 100 yards.

Webb24 nov. 2024 · The sight illustrated was used on the Model 52 and Model 41 5.5" Heavy Barrel. They are no longer made. Use caution modifying your sight as replacement parts are difficult to source. Also, changing out the rear blade involves replacing the windage nut and screw. I purchased my model 66 used, from a pawn shop, and later noticed the rear sight was bent. All I did was call Taurus. They told me I could send it to them and they would replace it. I told them I didn't want to go that route, so they said I could just buy a new one and put it on myself. This is what I did. Easy fix.

The elevation adjustment screw is a little buggered also. I will order the sight blade kit and find a gunsmith to make the change. I talked to S&W today and they said it should have come with the 0.160 blade.
