WebOct 2024. It was the church of Repton Abbey. The Abbey was built around 600 ad. The abbey was abandoned in 873 when the Vikings overran it. There is an 8th century arch remaining from the Abbey next to the church. The chancel has a Saxon crypt underneath were all that remained after the Vikings destroyed the rest of the church.
